SPRING & SUMMER COOKING CLASSES

Sunday, March 22nd: Cavatelli Per Favore

In a literal sense, Cavatelli translates to “little hollows.” But, it means way more to us at Red Pump. This simple, rustic casalinga-style pasta from Southern Italy is one of the most fun kinds of pasta to make. And, the best part is that you don’t need any fancy equipment so you can easily make these again (and again) at home. We’ll learn how to dress it up or down as we make two different sauces: a rich lamb sauce and a simple basil pesto. Class includes a meal and two glasses of wine.

Sunday, April 5th: Perfecting Chicken Parmesan

Transport your taste buds to Italy as you learn how to perfect chicken parmesan. Begin the class with a Prosecco tasting led by General Manager James Bonner. You’ll then enjoy a glass of bubbly as Chef Brandon Ripberger shows you how to master the art of Red Pump’s signature dish. Utilizing the freshest seasonal ingredients, you’ll learn how to make homemade marinara sauce while perfecting that crispy yet deliciously saturated, and ever-so-intentionally-soggy bite. Not to mention, you won’t need any fancy equipment which means you can easily recreate this fan-favorite again (and again) at home! We’ll then sit down together to enjoy the fruits of our labor. Class includes a meal, a Prosecco tasting, and two glasses of wine.

Sunday, June 21st: Pizza 101

We’ll begin the class with a Negroni Cocktail Demo led by General Manager James Bonner. Following the cocktail demo, you will learn the secrets behind Red Pump’s perfect dough – it’s all about the crust to us – light and airy that’s crispy yet chewy! This recipe is sure to be tucked into your recipe archives (and passed down) for years to come. Sharpen your knife skills as you learn to properly chop and prep veggies. We’ll then top off the pizza with your choice of delicious toppings before sitting down for our very own pizza party to enjoy all that we prepared. Class includes a meal, a cocktail demo, and two glasses of wine.

Sunday, July 12th: Cavatelli Per Favore

In a literal sense, Cavatelli translates to “little hollows.” But, it means way more to us at Red Pump. And, the best part is that you don’t need any fancy equipment so you can make these again (and again) at home.

We’ll begin the class with a cocktail demo led by General Manager James Bonner. You’ll learn the secret to making Sgroppino – one of our favorite Italian inspired cocktails. Made with lemon sorbet, Processco, and Vodka, this is the perfect cocktail to keep you cool all summer long!

Following the cocktail demo, Chef Brandon Ripenberger will teach you how to dress Cavatelli up or down as we make two different sauces: a rich lamb sauce and a simple basil pesto. We’ll then sit down together to enjoy the fruits (er, carbs) of our labor. Class includes a meal, a cocktail demo, a cocktail and a glass of wine.

Sunday, August 2nd: Calzone

Join us as we gather around Red Pump’s wood-burning oven to make a favorite classic! No Italian feast is complete without a glass (or two) of wine. Our General Manager and wine connoisseur will begin the class with a wine tasting 101, schooling you in how to pair wines with calzones as well as other Italian inspired dishes.

Following the wine tasting, Chef Brandon will share the secrets behind Red Pump’s dough, including everything you need to know about perfecting the shape of a calzone. You will also sharpen your knife skills as you learn to properly chop and prep veggies. To top it off, we’ll add a variety of delicious fillings before sitting down to enjoy our personal calzones. Class includes a meal, a wine tasting, and two glasses of wine.
