Winter 2020 Cooking Classes

As a hit of the decade, Red Pump Kitchen is thrilled to extend our 2019 Cooking Class Series into 2020! Drawing on our Tuscan and Italian inspired fare, the interactive class will highlight our farm-to-table philosophy. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or a culinary curious foodie, our signature cooking classes are fit for any level of experience. Sunday, January 12th: Soups & Stews

Get cozy in the Red Pump Kitchen with our soups and stews cooking class! Join the Red Pump culinary team, lead by Chef Brandon Ripenberger, in our kitchen to learn our favorite no-fail winter soups and stews to keep you warm when it’s chilly!

Sunday, January 26th: Pizza 101

In this hands-on cooking class, you will learn the secrets behind Red Pump’s perfect dough – it’s all about the crust to us – light and airy that’s crispy yet chewy! This recipe is sure to be tucked into your recipe archives (and passed down) for years to come. You’ll also sharpen your knife skills as you learn to properly chop and prep veggies. You’ll top off the pizza with your choice of delicious toppings. Red Pump’s wine team will school you in how to pair wines with pizza – perhaps a Super Tuscan blend or a smooth, aged Tempranillo.

Sunday, February 9th: Love Letter Pasta

Can’t find the words for your Valentine? Our Love Letter Pasta has you covered. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, join us as we make this fresh (and sentimental) pasta from scratch! Grab a loved one to celebrate the holiday while you learn Chef’s secret to making homemade pasta that is sure to impress!

Sunday, February 23rd: Knead to Know Gnocchi

Light as a feather, our made-from-scratch pillowy dumplings are bites of perfection. In this hands-on cooking class, you will learn our Chef’s secret to making no-fail ricotta gnocchi that is fun and delicious for the winter. We’ll learn how to dress it up or down as we create two different sauces: an oyster mushroom crème fraîche and a simple Italian salsa verde.

Sunday, March 22nd: Cavatelli Per Favore

In a literal sense, Cavatelli translates to “little hollows.” But, it means way more to us at Red Pump. This simple, rustic casalinga-style pasta from Southern Italy is one of the most fun kinds of pasta to make. And, the best part is that you don’t need any fancy equipment so you can easily make these again (and again) at home. We’ll learn how to dress it up or down as we make two different sauces: a rich lamb sauce and a simple basil pesto.
