In a literal sense, Cavatelli translates to “little hollows.” But, it means way more to us at Red Pump. This simple, rustic casalinga-style pasta from Southern Italy is one of the most fun kinds of pasta to make. And, the best part is that you don’t need any fancy equipment so you can easily make these again (and again) at home. We’ll learn how to dress it up or down as we make two different sauces: a rich lamb sauce and a simple basil pesto. Sommelier TC Whysall will school you in how to pair wines with cavatelli – perhaps a citrus driven Chardonnay or a California Carignan. Following the interactive cooking demo, we’ll sit down together to enjoy the fruits (er, carbs) of our labor. Class includes a meal and two glasses of wine.
